On Site Thermal Treatment at WR Grace - Libby, MT
This on site thermal treatment project involved the partial demolition and cleanup of two adjacent tank farms in Libby, Montana. Work at the W.R. Grace site consisted of the demolition of underground and surface structures, excavation and on-site thermal treatment of petroleum contaminated soils, backfilling and compaction of treated soils in original excavation, and other site restoration activities.
The work at the Venture Petroleum site included underground demolition, excavation and on-site thermal treatment of petroleum contaminated soils, backfilling and compaction of treated soils in the original excavation, and other associated site restoration work.
Both properties were adjacent to and served by an Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad mainline. Excavation activities were conducted adjacent to this line, as well as adjacent to operating buildings and above ground bulk fuel storage tanks.
