Construction of Septic System at National Park - Mt. Rainier, WA
The work performed under this contract consisted
of the construction of a new gravity septic system at the parking area
for the Grove of the Patriarchs. Due to the sensitive nature of the
National Park the work was to be performed in, it was not allowed
to establish a work camp within the park. Additionally, all work was
centered around preserving the park's natural features, and was to be
accomplished in a way least inconvenient to daily operation of the park.
This included erecting temporary barriers to protect all surrounding
trees and natural areas, and excavation was carefully planned to avoid
disturbing critical tree root zones.
Work included cutting, removing part of the
asphalt parking area as part of a complete installation of all piping,
piping apertures and septic tanks. A complete leach field was added
to provide a complete operating septic system. The
project was completed with reinstallation of the parking area, including asphalt and
curb installation.
