Environmental Response at National Park - Mt Rainier, WA

Work under this environmental response contract consisted of conducting a state-regulated remedial action and site investigation conducted at various locations at Mt. Rainier National Park. A requirement of this contract was for the development of site specific work plans for each of the project locations, as well as the final site assessment reporting of site activities and findings to state regulatory agencies. Other responsiblities included the procurement of all permits and reporting requirements. The environmental response site work included excavation, removal and disposal of underground fuel storage tanks and associated piping, site investigation, soil sampling, transportation decommissioning of 15 monitoring wells, and thermal treatment of impacted soils. There was also extensive site characterization, and well development. As requested, monitoring, sampling and ongoing reporting of conditions to regulatory agencies continued for several years after the project's scheduled completion date.

Project Performance

After the successful restoration of the site, an IR (infrared) spectrophotometry system was also installed to report site conditions in real-time.
